Today, Orthodontic appliances have been greatly adapted to be more convenient for the adult. This includes:

Appliances are generally smaller and overall less prominent.
Ceramic and clear fixed braces which are less obvious
Invisible (Invisilign) braces which are clear and can be removed.
Lingual braces which are worn on the back of the upper and lower teeth and are thus not at all visible.

During the assessment, the Orthodontist will pay special attention to the general condition of the adult’s teeth and gums to ensure they are of a suitable standard of health to obtain Orthodontics. He will check for gum disease, oral hygiene, active tooth decay and the general condition of the teeth.

Declan is fantastic. I went to him many years ago now but I will say the only thing I was ever unhappy with was that when I was having my braces removed, he shaved down the bumps on my teeth without asking me first. I had no idea what he was doing until after he did it and to this day I still miss them. I really liked the way my teeth looked with them and obviously they won’t grow back!

This has been my one and only complaint with Declan after his many years of amazing service and his extremely helpful team.

Cannot recommend Glasnevin Orthodontics enough. Got braces as an adult and I felt looked after from beginning to end (from Sheelagh in reception, to the nurses and of course Declan who is patient, knowledgeable and listened to me the whole way). Absolutely delighted with the results after 2.5 years of treatment. Happy now I have somewhere I can trust to bring my kids in the future. Zero hidden extras and nothing but care.

Very general advice on the first visit (including straight away talking about available payment plan!), I expected much more insight from a specialist. Not ideal location if you need parking as well.

Absolutely fantastic 5 star service. These guys are amazing at what they do. I cant recommend these guys enough. Declan is so welcoming, professional and brilliant at what he does. From the time I walked into his practice I felt so welcome. I just got my braces off this morning. I love love love the result. For 3 years i attended this practice with not one complaint. Pain free process so efficient and such a perfectionist. Massive shout out to all of the dental nurses who are so friendly and helpful.
The receptionist Shiela is such a people person. She is just a legend. She is a natural at dealing with people, remembers every persons name and its never any bother to cancel or change your appointment.
